Love on the Brain - A Review

Love on the Brain - A Review

Love on the Brain šŸ§ šŸ’—!
So, for those of you who follow us on Instagram, you'd know by now that I like to do short reviews of the books that I read. I thought, why not make it a thing on the website too! So that's what I'm doing...

(Follow us onĀ Instagram if you don't! @booksandbeyond.shop)

Continue for a detailed review of Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood, by someone who hasĀ never written a formal review and just types for the sake of it.
If you know nothing about Ali Hazelwood, know this: she writes a fantastic romance.
Author of the TikTok craze "The Love Hypothesis" (which is also one of my favourite reads this year), Ali tends to make youĀ wishĀ with every fibre in your bones that you were that girl, whether it's Olive (TLH) or Bee.

SO:

1 day. That's how long it took me to read this book. And when I say one day, I don't mean I started it on Sunday and finished it on Monday. I mean, I started it on Sunday at 3pm, and finished it at 11pm. So I guess really 8 hours.

Anyway, enough rambling LOL!
4.5 stars. āļøĀ
That's what I rate it. The only reason it's not a five, is because I definitely preferred The Love Hypothesis. šŸ‘©šŸ½ā€šŸ”¬
Love on the Brain šŸ’—šŸ§ .

What was it about?

Bee is our main character. Our lovely, awkward woman-in-STEM protagonist. Bee was cheated on by her fiancĆ©, Tim.Ā Bad enough already I know, but get this: he cheated on her with her BEST FRIEND Annie! What an asswipe.Ā

She works as a neuroscientist, a woman of the brain and all such, and she gets the call from NASA. They want her to run point (or co-point) on a project involving um...space helmets. She accepts of course, only to find that her co-leader is someone she considers to be her arch-nemesis.Ā

Yeah, that's all I'm going to tell you about it really.Ā
My personal opinion?Ā
I would KILLĀ to be the girl that Levi loves. Honestly. I would commit mass murder.Ā
This book was so full of emotion and tension and love that it actually made me wish I could dive into the pages. It's a perfect love story. Fiery, sad, angry and REAL.
Throughout the story, you get to see the development in the hearts of so many characters. It's honestly a beautifully written book, and if you're reading this right now, please take it as my formal recommendation that you should definitely buy this next. If it's not already sitting on your shelf.
God, I would give anything to read it again for the first time, and I've only just finished it.
I would say that if you like romance and if romance is your thing then go for it? I think? I don't usually read romance but this did it for me!
Honestly though - lowkey 5āļø! I'm just being stingy because I love TLH.Ā
But Adam or Levi? Who would you pick? Bee or Olive? I'm not sure now.
This is making me think too much.

I'm going to log off and call it a night before I spiral!
READ IT THOUGH!!!
Love you all xxx
